Dan has posted a 4-part Power-Point presentation from the FAA called "The Successful Cross-Country". Each part is a LARGE file (60-85MB), so if you're using a dial-up connection, don't bother. Just click the button at the left to get to the page with the presentation.

And for a little laugh....

I TRUST AIRPLANES

Don't forget the combined Annual Taildraggers and Chapter 740 BBQ fly-in on July 18th at Parlin Field (Newport, NH), 2B3. FAAST/WINGS presentation at 0930.

This is a reminder that the 24th annual Simsbury Fly-In will be held on Sunday, Sept 20 at Simsbury Airport (4B9). You are cordially invited to attend what we believe is the largest event of its kind in New England.

Last year, we attracted an estimated 10,000 spectators, over 200 airplanes, and more than 350 autos in our companion car show.

This year we plan, for the first time, to provide seminars on topics of interest to aviators. We hope to have seminars on subjects such as Light Sport, the latest in avionics and glass cockpits, a display of an actual kitplane under construction, and what is involved in taking flying lessons.

We'll continue to offer judging and trophies in many categories. The Yankee Clippers formation demonstration team will perform, and we'll have several skydiving demos. Along with dealer displays, live music, and activities for kids, we'll feature a pancake breakfast and great lunch food.

You can find photos of the 2008 Fly-in, arrival/departure info, a feature article in Sport Aviation Magazine, and a copy of our Event Program at www.simsburyairport.com.
